What started out as a little boy peering through the fence at Atlantic City race Course nearly 30 years ago, Chris Venis parlayed his true passion for horse racing into a top flight thoroughbred racing partnership.
Capitol Hill Thoroughbreds is a horse racing partnership that attracts owners from all walks of life, from corporate CEO’s and business leaders, retiree’s and blue collar workers to aunts and grandmothers. The one thing they have in common…their love for the thoroughbred.

We only work with the best trainers, staff and advisors that come with high recommendations and are known for their honesty and integrity. Education is a top priority, we want you to understand what is going on at all times so that one day you have learned enough to go out on your own. Each owner is treated with respect, regardless of your background or financial commitment. The $2500 investor gets the same positive treatment, information and news as the $250,000 investor. Finally, excitement brings us all together. Whether it is a claimer or a stakes horse, there is nothing more exciting than your horse battling down the stretch for a win and the walk to the winners circle.
Buying YOUR Horse
Capitol Hill Thoroughbreds currently purchases its horses either at major sales or through private acquisition. This approach allows us the opportunity to fully inspect, examine all prospective athletes prior to purchase and receive a thorough examination by a licensed veterinarian. We routinely attend the Fasig Tipton , Ocala Breeder’s Sales Company and Keeneland Sales.
